Central and Eastern Europe: The situation

While some markets in Eastern Europe are similar to markets in Western Europe, most attention goes to the hotspots for growth. Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia are all in line for explosive retail development.

Rapid growth and the introduction of international retail formats mean that:

  • Local brands are suddenly confronted with a host of international competitors.
