- Full story |
Multicultural BusinessEconomic InterdependenceWhen you put it all together, you can see how becoming a competent manager in a multicultural, diverse environment goes far beyond learning the tricks and signals displayed by different cultures. Knowing what’s behind the stereotypes just isn’t sufficient. In particular, it is the growing economic interdependence that affects every dimension of our companies from capital flows through the speed of mergers and acquisitions to the supply of goods and services. In many market sectors, being the lowest cost supplier has become a zero sum game. Adding the finesse and skills to both keep tight budgets and move your brand up market requires sensitivity and understanding at all levels. Added Value or Price? Paradoxes abound. Products compete at one end on price or at the other on high quality. You need to decide whether you are the supplier of choice for the ‘global village’ or be part of the resurgence and strengthening of local cultures. There is no happy median anymore. Compromises don’t work. Back to overview Next Previous |
