Ivan Shadsky is a chartered accountant and specialist in international economic relations, strategic planning and strategy implementation, change management and business development technologies. Ivan has a proven track record in the establishment, development and on-going improvement of international corporate infrastructures for banks and companies in different business lines. Having had executive and senior management positions in metals and mining, banking, audit and consulting, wealth management and telecommunications, Ivan has just about mastered every aspect of corporate finance, assets management and protection mechanisms, international tax planning and management information and control systems.

Professional background

Prior to joining MCE as a Senior Associate Ivan was a Managing Director of Rosatom Finance Ltd.’s in charge of Group’s international treasury and business structuring activities. He launched the company’s business from scratch and made a fundamental contribution to the development of its strategy. Ivan also spent 8 years as a Head of Foreign Corporate Structures Department of MMC «Norilsk Nickel». He established and was directly responsible for a network of foreign corporate structures comprised of sales, treasury and auxiliary entities worldwide, including United States, United Kingdom and other European countries, Hong Kong etc. The list of his responsibilities also includes development and realization of a complex ownership structures for corporate assets, preparation and support of M&A transactions, facilitation of the group’s direct investments, such as in international mining and metallurgical businesses. Furthermore, Ivan was also in charge of operations and Corporate secretary of JV between MMC “NN” and Rio Tinto, and of the Alliance of MMC “NN” and BHP Billiton. Ivan devoted 7 years to audit of banks and business advisory; more than 4 of which with Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young, and 3 as a partner of a private international consulting firm. Among his projects were performance of due diligence procedures and assessments for sundry businesses, development and implementation of management information and control systems and risk management.

Education and qualifications

Ivan a graduated from the State Finance University under the Government of Russian Federation with Degree in international economic relations, financial analysis and accounting. He holds additional certificates and diplomas in applied economics, including Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA). He is an MCE Business Mentor.
